Do you ever have the feeling that there just aren’t enough hours in the day?

Despite your best efforts to manage your time effectively, you just can’t seem to get everything done? We live in a very speedy, deadline-oriented society. It’s even reflected in our language, “Time is of the Essence”; “Time and Tide wait for no man” (or woman!).

You’re constantly being bombarded by messages, some subliminal, others not so subtle, to get more done, reach greater levels of achievement, pack even more into your already bursting-at-the-seams day.

And then you come across a truism, telling you that you have exactly the same amount of time as people like Mother Teresa and Mahatma Gandhi, which makes you feel even worse as you compare their great humanitarian achievements with your life!

There comes a point when your stress level is so high because of all the pressure you put yourself under, that you crack, crying, “How can I get all of this done?”

Gratitude prescription

What if there were a magic pill you could pop to re-set your stress level, calm you down and increase your energy? A pill that, over time, would shift your thinking about what is important and help you see life differently, so that you felt happier and healthier?

I recently came across the work of a husband and wife doctor team whose mission is to evolve the current medical model from a disease-centered practice into one that centers on thriving. Read what The Thrive Doctors have to say about a “Brand New Wonder Drug”!

“…It alleviates depression, ends anxiety, reverses aging, increases your energy and has even been shown to cure cancer. It’s been used for decades and proven in millions of studies. It can help whatever ails you and is specific to what is needed in any moment. It will turn off the stress response, aid digestion, balance your hormone levels, improve your immune functioning, restore your energy and put spring into your step. Results are immediate and increase over time…It’s also free!…”

Not too difficult to follow those instructions, is it? It isn’t, but like any change, it does require a commitment.  Like much of what we do on Align With Your Purpose, it’s about raising your level of awareness and being deliberate in what you do at first. You have to be deliberate because this is not something you’re used to doing, but as the Thrive Doctors explain in the article, you will notice a shift almost straight away, you just have to be consistent with it.

Gradually, as expressing gratitude becomes a habit for you, you’ll realise you’ve actually made some big changes – and you didn’t need any conventional pills!

If you’re like me, you’ll be feeling excited at starting this, and do it enthusiastically at first, but then forget.  We can all use some help staying on track when we are making changes as part of our journey along the path to purpose. So why not join us in the Path to Purpose membership site where you will find a wonderful group of like-minded people who will cheer you on (and keep you accountable!)
